I started my creative journey in fine art, through which I became increasingly drawn to creating work that challenged contemporary society, or caused the viewer to ponder upon it. Whilst my work has departed from fine art, my design ideology and affinity for cross-disciplinary methodologies continues to permeate my work, hence, I’m continously pushing my technical skills whether this is in animation or 3D to name a few. I struggle to feel aligned with the current fashion industry as it’s defined by superficiality and ephemerality. For me, clothes are a connection to a moment in time, laced with memories and emotions on both a personal and communal level. This empathetic lens is what drives me to explore concepts that are rooted in their benefit to the people and the planet, such as bio-fabricated materials, non-toxic dyeing practices and mindful consumption. If I had to describe my design aesthetic in three words, I would choose: organic, layered both visually and with meaning, and tactile.
